Job details z/Transaction Processing Facility (z/TPF) is the IBM specialized zSeries operating system and transaction processor for high-end, high-volume, high-bandwidth computing. Designed to excel in the most demanding operational requirements, z/TPF is optimized for large scale computing, taking every advantage of the outstanding memory and I/O management capabilities of the IBM zSeries family. The z/TPF system is well-suited for environments where growth is expected to be very fast or unpredictable, or where there are high peak periods of transaction activity. It is especially useful for applications that need high capacity and extremely low cost per transaction.

CDL z/TPF team is part of WW z/TPF lab, mainly focusing on customers support in China who are using a z/TPF system. Meanwhile, the team will work with WW z/TPF lab to develop new function on the z/TPF system.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide support to customers in China who are using a z/TPF system. This will include answering technical questions, debugging problems, submitting requirements to the z/TPF lab in the United States.
- Work in conjunction with the programmers in the United States on z/TPF development of new function on the z/TPF operating system.

Job Requirements (skills/experiences)
- Low-level programming languages will be required, such as Basic Assembler Language and C Language.
- Knowledge of 64 bit architecture would be helpful.
- Good understanding of high performance computing knowledge and how to apply that to programming practices.

Much of the specific z/TPF skills will be developed working with the development lab in the United States as skills transfer.

Qualifications(Education/Major/Certificates)
- Computer Engineering degree.
- Good understanding of the hardware/software engineering interface.
- Excellent written/spoken English
