Job details Our client is a large organization that controls significant pensions investments from foreign government and educational sectors.

Function Profile:

Main topics and responsibilities:

- Manage Liquid Real Estate Asia portfolio
Manage Active Portfolio:
- Monitor individual stock and sector weightings.
- Make buy/sell recommendations and initiate trades
advise.
- Write monthly, quarterly and annual performance and
outlook reports.
- Encourage analysts to advise focused bets on their best ideas.
- Reinvest cash inflows and re-balance when necessary.
- Supervise and mentor (Senior) Portfolio Analysts.
- Set strategic direction and recommend allocations.
- Communicate with Global Real Estate team on allocations, the investment process and investment performance, also including Control and the Allocation committee.
- If required, create and monitor compliance guidelines relating to the SFC and legal issues.
- Analyze macro-economic data to understand the implications for different sectors of real estate.
- Lead bi-weekly meetings with team (analysts and traders) to talk about industry and portfolio issues.
- Lead weekly Real Estate Group meeting that deals with any outstanding issues for the group.
- Advise traders and monitor trading activity.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships within company, the global real estate team and the Asian Real Estate industry, including sell-side analysts and traders, companies and bankers.
- Monitor peer group performance.
- Mentor analysts on industry and company analysis.
- Otherwise fulfill SPM obligations under the Investment Process and Investment Management Process.

Administration:

- Monitor compliance issues relating to relationships between clients vendors, such as sell-side research and trading.
- Promote clients position within the industry and assume leadership role in real estate industry groups.
- Participate in creating on new investment ideas for platform.
- Work with IT on developing and integrating portfolio management advisory systems (Bloomberg, performance attribution).
- Coordinate with Liquid Real Estate Europe and Liquid Real - Estate US to help organize Global Liquid Fund Strategy Day meetings.

Candidate Profile:

- MBA (Economics) and/or a CFA is required
- 7-12 years experience in a related capacity (experience in Japanese market is important)
- Team player who is a self starter, pro-active and motivated to create positive change
- Strong communication and PC skills
- English is key and preferably Japanese
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
