Job details We are currently hiring a business analyst for EQD Prop trading house.

The purpose of this role is to:

-work closely with the mid office team to drive efficiencies within the mid office function of our Asian trading business; and
-to ensure that the Mid Office is able to meet both our current and future business requirements (which includes larger volumes, increased products traded and expanding geographies);

Function Profile:

Key accountabilities of this role include:

-Reviewing current processes to identify process improvements and automation opportunities;
-Working closely with the Mid Office, trading and IT teams to implement process improvements and automation initiatives;
-Establishing systems and processes to drive efficiencies that will meet both our current requirements/needs/ and our future aggressive growth plans;
-Working with the Mid Office team to ensure that the Mid Office is meeting requirements, and over time, supporting Risk Management initiatives;
-Delivering key projects already identified, including re-engineering, reporting, storage and information access projects as well as identifying and implementing new projects;
-Learning and understanding the key aspects and processes of the mid office function including daily, monthly and yearly P&L processes, external party interactions and communications etc;
-Acting as a trouble-shooter and resource for P&L, exchange and new account problems – identifying ongoing or significant issues and resolving these problems.

Candidate Profile:

Work Experience and Technical Skills:

-Minimum 3 - 4 years mid office experience, ideally in a similar trading environment;
-Strong analytical skills;
-Solid IT exposure, advanced access and excel skills are vital, VBA specific skills desirable;
-Proven project management experience;
-Apart from the core competencies listed above, the ability to build relationships, influence the business and deliver to deadlines is essential.

Education:
Tertiary qualifications (with solid academic results) in a banking, finance, commerce, business, economics, IT or another related discipline is essential.
