The Role
As a result of our continued growth, Ritchie Bros. has an immediate requirement for a Corporate Affairs Manager to be based in Beijing, China. Reporting to the Chief Representative, this role will play an integral part in the development of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers’ growth strategy in China and will focus on the legal and administrative aspects of transforming the Representative Office into a Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise Auction company.

The Key Responsibilities
· Network and develop relations with government institutions at both the national, provincial, and local levels
· Network and develop relationships within professional associations such as the China Construction Machinery Association, The China Auction Association, etc, China Equipment Leasing Association, etc. .
· Be the ‘go to’ person for all current tax/trade and legal issues that affect business processes.
· Develops, and implement policies and procedures as well as streamline existing processes to ensure scalability and consistency
· Liaise with Corporate International head office in Richmond, BC, Canada to ensure compliance with company policies & practices as well as to develop, and implement business strategies.
The Requirements
· University degree in Business and/or Law or an equivalent combination of directly relevant experience and education.
· 7-10 years experience in a business development and/or legal consultation role with a proven background in developing and executing new business strategies
· Fluency at a business level in English. Native spoken and written Chinese a must.
· Knowledge of national, provincial, and local laws & regulations.
· Proven success in delivering and meeting project deadlines in a fast growing company..
· Effective presentation skills.
· Aptitude for technology to streamline activities.
· Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills .
· A high degree of personal integrity.
· A creative problem-solver and solution provider.
· Highly motivated self-starter who is able to work independently with little direct supervision.
· A strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job!
Please note that this position:
· will require frequent domestic travel and some international travel.
· will be based in Beijing for the first several years with the later prospect of relocating to the East China Region.
