Rail Principal Consultant - Permanent Way
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and design, consultancy and technical services in Permanent Way
Ensure the good management and delivery of projects and technical outputs to agreed time, budget and quality targets
Authorize, check and approve documents, drawings and reports before issue
Act as Principal engineer, Project Manager and main point of internal and external contacts on various projects as required
Contribute to overall Business Development targets by fostering good client relationships through consistently high standards of project delivery and client communication
Requirements
Civil Engineering degree or Certificate in Civil Engineering or Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in Civil Engineering or Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
10-15 years experience in a mixture of consulting and contracting environments, specializing in Permanent Way design and engineering including production of design drawings during or for feasibility, surveys, site supervision and outline detailed design
A proven or developing track record in the delivery of quality technical solutions for rail infrastructure projects
Good awareness of the multi-disciplinary project skills interacting with their own field
Experience of a range of consultancy assignments within Permanent Way field
Experience in Plain line and Switch & Crossing
Good understanding of the issues affecting the construction and operation of a safe railway
