Responsibilities
Develop and design high performance LED components
Improve polymer materials utilized in all high brightness packages
Analyze package materials and solve materials related problems
Provide flexibility and communicate findings quickly for 24x7 technical support and R&D operation for critical projects
Maintain materials knowledge database strengthening evaluation achievements and trainings
Requirements
MS or PhD (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
3-10 years experience in LED packaging in manufacturing or in an R&D capacity
Focus on polymers with demonstrated understanding of materials and characterization techniques.
Understanding and optimization of a variety of chip designs and their interaction with the packaging design, processes, and materials towards improved performance
Strong hands-on based mechanical aptitude and data collection/analysis
In-depth chemistry knowledge application, understanding and procurement of state of the art materials, especially silicones and epoxies utilized in the packages
Proficiency in database and data analysis tools, eg MS Access, SQL Server, JMP, Excel, and VBA
