    This leading and well known life insurance company is seeking a seasoned risk professional to head up the risk function for their Hong Kong business.

    Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful individual will manage and implement the risk framework for the Company and will be accountable for bringing together aspects required to ensure that the Company manages its business (operational and financial) risks robustly.

    The position will cover the implementation, performance and continuous improvement of a risk management program. In addition the successful candidate will work together with the business managers to assist in determining the business’ risk appetite and to develop a plan to resolve/mitigate unacceptable risks, as well as working with senior management and line managers to promote a pro-active and positive culture of managing business risks which is integrated and aligned with the business and which will contribute to the Company.

    Interested Candidates should be/ have:

  • University graduate in Business or Accounting and with professional accounting or internal auditing qualification
  • A sound knowledge of the life insurance business and processes. Broad and practical understanding of the legal and regulatory environment as well as aspects of key legislation. At least 5-7 years in the area of risk assessment and management principles and techniques
  • Good command of English and Chinese
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident communicator able to “get the message across” and influence outcomes
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Ability to develop networks and establish constructive relationships with business units
  • Excellent interpretive and analytical skills to understand and assess the impact on the business, and practical implications and requirements of legal and regulatory requirements
  • Good leadership skills and team management skills
