PURPOSE

Our client is a hugely respected firm globally, it’s Hong Kong office is responsible for procuring equity & fixed income content from Investment Banks, Brokers and Independent Research Providers (“Suppliers”). The group is seeking a highly qualified Senior Manager to join their Global Content Acquisition team. The candidate will be based in Hong Kong and lead their Asian content acquisition effort. The role will report to the Global Head based in New York.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to managing and building the team, this person will work to ensure the team is able to:

• Collaborate with project leaders to define and develop an overall commercial plan for Asia’s content acquisition effort.
• Define a content acquisition strategy for each targeted firm as required.
• Establish a process to track and manage a full sales cycle for negotiating with, acquiring and keeping their suppliers.
• Work with senior management at new and existing supplier target firms to drive the firm’s agenda.
• Develop and drive a coordinated approach with Commercial Account Managers and Support Analysts to support and sell into each Supplier firm.
• Coordinate closely with our Client Development and Sales Specialists to identify specific suppliers in each region.
• Coordinate with Client Development and Commercial Account Managers to identify platform sales opportunities within research target firms.
• Define platform requirements for tools directed to Equity Research personnel across Asia. Actively engage with technology to drive product definition and design requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• A solid and demonstrated understanding of financial markets.
• A good understanding of sell-side dynamics.
• Over 8 years direct sales experience, in the financial sector.
• Proven track record of successfully building and managing teams.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Proven negotiation & closing skills.
• Established relationship building and time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-based environment.
• Extensive travel required.
