Overview
We are supporting our client who is looking for an experienced professional in the home textiles field. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with sourcing and leading operations combined with a good technical background.
Responsibilities
•Continuously establish the company’s supply base and sourcing activities in Shanghai, China and grow/improve the capacity of product development, production, quality control and logistics;
•Ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved in terms of the timely delivery of quality products and services;
•Be accountable for planning, defining and developing strategic business objectives for Shanghai, China operations in accordance with the company’s objectives;
•Manage and direct Shanghai, China operations to achieve all business plans, objectives and profitability targets (must be hands-on);
•Able to lead/manage product development, production, quality control and other technical initiatives when needed;
•Take effective steps to achieve operational excellence in Shanghai, China;
•Recruit high caliber talent for the company’s local operation;
•Develop the company’s Shanghai, China team into a world class team that is aligned with the core values and right business conducts;
•As the V.P. of Merchandising/Sourcing/Operations for the Shanghai Office, one must effectively communicate with headquarters and major business partners (suppliers) from both within and outside the company, as well as keep good relationships with relevant government and/or academic agencies.
Requirements
•At least 5 years experience in merchandising/sourcing/operations management within home textiles or garment industry;
•A true sense of urgency and quality control;
•Ability to juggle various functions at one time, but stay focused on the big picture and the bottom line;
•A team builder with team-working spirit, organizational development ability and mentoring skills;
•Demonstrated skills and capability of creating/managing/motivating a cohesive team;
•General knowledge of Private Label business would be a plus.
