Major Duties and Responsibilities
1.Assist in the development of strategic IT plans, based on business objectives.
Assist in developing annual IT plans & budgets.
Ensure any implications of these plans are communicated to business.
Participate in getting the plan and strategy approved.
2. Project and highlight major IT trends and future direction to leverage upon.
Present and discuss external IT events with Senior Management to enable new technologies to be applied and exploited to business advantage.
Evaluate trends, processes and methods in IT industry to contribute to development of long-term business strategies in consultation with senior management.
Provide consultative advice to management on IT issues.
3. Lead People & Manage Resources to maximize operational efficiency.
Show leadership attributes & encourage this behavior in all staff.
Maximize return on investment of existing resources.
Identify and exploit application synergies in order to maximize saving in business.
4. Manage & leverage close working relationships with other divisions, affiliates and US HQ.
Leverage global Knowledge & Experience.
Contribute to the IT knowledge base.
5. Institutionalize & continuously improve “IT Best Practices” to ensure operational reliability, integrity, internal control and External compliance.
Implement & Maintain appropriate methodologies.
Ensure Internal Control requirements are complied with and regularly reviewed.
Drive towards standardization of business systems, adoption of efficient processes and global best practices, common data definitions and management reporting.
6. Acquire skills, knowledge and experience to support the business direction of the organization.
Identify future training & development needs with IT Manager.
Create a plan and monitor/ revise regularly to meet changing requirements.
Accountability
Work with users in identifying solutions that will deliver clear business benefits.
Ensure IT initiatives deliver as agreed with users and that they adhere to the standards as defined by Corporate and Division IS.
Develop rollout plan for area implementation of IT initiatives. Develop schedules and allocate resources accordingly.
Prepare support plan for area IT initiatives.
Manage Capital and Expense expenditure within budgetary constraints as defined in the annual plan.
