The Derivatives Processing team, based in Shanghai, New York, London, Budapest, Montreal and Mumbai, is responsible for delivering interest rate, credit, equity and commodity derivatives systems to operational users around the globe. Growth in the derivatives markets & volumes in Asia and globally requires build-out of an advanced derivatives processing plant to ensure Our Client keeps its edge in this market. The agile, business-driven environment demands a candidate who can perform analysis, design, coding, testing, training and maintenance of complex, reliable distributed applications as well as lead a team of developers and manage project schedules. Frequent interaction with business users and technologists around the globe requires outstanding written and verbal communications and good interpersonal skills.
The team is expected to be a partner in the business and as such must develop a full understanding of the business processes which are to be supported. Candidates with prior experience in capital markets & trading systems strongly preferred, but the ability to be adaptable, learn quickly and think creatively is just as important. Qualified candidates are expected to be elite developers in Java, C# or both, to have a passion for coding complex software every day, and will be expected to be the most capable/senior developer on the team. We expect the team to at least double in size over the next year, and the position will provide excellent opportunities for growth.
Skills Required
Exceptionally strong object-oriented development in Java and/or C#
* Concurrent programming in multithreaded, distributed environments
* Structured data; relational databases (schema design, SQL queries) and XML
* Developing software in a UNIX environment
* Excellent written and verbal communications in English
* Demonstrated ability to self-manage, meet deadlines and deliver & be accountable for results
* Able to help hire & develop a team of 4 – 5 developers
* Strong logic and problem-solving skills
