Idealpeople are hiring on behalf a ground-breaking, innovative player in the digital broadcast software/systems space. This award winning company are backed by top VCs and investment banks including Goldmann Sachs, and have a strong power-base in Asia (China, India, Thailand, Japan), operating from a regional HQ in Singapore.
They help cable, ‘service provider’, and video operator customers to deliver a seamless, secure content experience for consumers. Although their products are leading edge, it’s not the technology which leaves their competitors wondering what happened, it’s their dedication, hard work and customer commitment which puts them ahead of the game.
This is a key role as it involves working with customers after the systems have been implemented, so we are looking for someone with a troubleshooting mindset who is naturally curious and has a strong customer care ethic. You may already be working in a Security Software Vendor/ISV, an ISP as Systems Administrator, or a Pre/Post-Sales Support role with a Cable Operator or Broadcaster.
You will have technical skills or understanding in most of:
Systems Debugging, Network Tracing, Log File Analysis, Telco/Network Architecture.
IP Networking and Concepts
UNIX (ideally both Solaris and LINUX) and Windows Systems
Databases (Systems Queries), Ideally on a range of SQL based Systems (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
Strong communication skills and a very dark sense of humour is a must
‘Get the job done without having to ask’ attitude is also essential.
Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Thai etc would be nice to have but not essential (We know we are pushing it here, but if you speak Japanese)
The role will be based from Singapore and will pay up to $80,000 plus benefits. People based outside of SG are most welcome to apply, but don’t expect relocation assistance or any circa-1995 expat perks.
