Job Description:
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be the integral key of the communication and implementation of global sourcing strategies between design, buying and sourcing teams in the German and UK Headquarters. You will identify, evaluate and select vendors in the Asia Pacific and Far East regions to ensure that quality, labour and safety issues comply with company standards. You will lead a team of 30 staff and be responsible for all product developments from setting up moulds and new patterns, deliver product briefs, first production runs to implementing process and quality controls. You will manage order and new development placements, leadtime and price negotiations whilst providing technical consultancy.
The Successful Applicant:
To qualify, you will have a minimum of 6-9 yrs experience in a merchandising role preferably from a manufacturing or trading company capacity. You will have extensive knowledge of all shoe manufacturing techniques, product development processes as well as an up-to-date knowledge of market and fashion trends in Europe. To succeed, you will have developed a wide network of vendors in the Asia Pacific. A positive thinker and detail-oriented entrepreneur, you will possess strong business acumen with excellent negotiation, communication and organizational skills together with the ability to manage complexity and meet tight deadlines. Fluency in English and Mandarin skills is a must.
