Our client is looking to expand their Group Internal Audit department regionally to cope with the expansion of the bank’s activities and to provide sufficient risk-based audit coverage for Finance related areas, including the additional requirements for Basel II. This function will have full responsibility for delivering an effective and independent risk based program of internal audits across different operation divisions including Private Banking/Asset Management, Information Technology, and Global Financial Markets. It provides assurance to the board and executive management that internal controls are adequately designed and operating effectively.



Your responsibilities will include the following:

1. Relationship Management

Maintain key relationships with stakeholders in audit assignments and raise potential risk and control issues to audit management.

Support Group Audit’s role as a trusted advisor to the BU/SU in control matters.



2. Execute audit assignments

Execute and complete all audits in accordance with departmental and IIA standards.

Undertake audit engagements assigned by the Regional Audit Specialist and/or VP of the team.



3. Provide expertise in subject areas

Advise and apprise promptly the Regional Audit Specialist and/or VP of the team of all major risk, control and regulatory issues arising during the audit.



4. Professional development

Keep abreast of own professional development to enhance one’s skills and competence.

Experience/Knowledge/Qualifications Required:

-A bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related discipline

-An ACCA/CA/CPA qualification is highly desirable

-At least 3-5 years of audit or relevant business experience in IT, Asset Management, Private Banking or Treasury and possesses general understanding of overall banking business.

-Knowledge of risk management and internal control in a global financial services environment

-Proficiency in risk analysis and audit report preparation

-Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), interpersonal and diplomacy skills required

-Strength of character in presenting complex and sensitive issues to senior management

-Enthusiastic, self motivated and effective under pressure

-Proven leadership skills at the senior level

-Creative thinker with the capacity to manage, motivate and encourage others

-Work well individually and in teams, share information, support colleagues and encourage participation
