This leading law firm provides a full range of legal services to a wide base of international financial institutions, major multi-national companies, government agencies and local companies. Its international Financial Markets team advises many of the world’s leading financial institutions on a wide variety of financial markets products.
It is now looking for a senior associate/ consultant / junior partner (8 years+ PQE) to join its Shanghai office. The role will include reporting to the Head of Financial Markets in Hong Kong and the managing partner in Shanghai. This role will also offer the opportunity to build a China focused financial markets team operating in Shanghai, and will work closely with its leading financial markets team in Hong Kong. This is therefore a rare and very exciting opportunity.
Applicants must have:-
* Overseas qualification, with working experience both overseas and in China gained in the financial markets arena at a leading international law firm.
* Extensive knowledge of banking and finance, structured products and debt capital markets transactions, ideally both in an international and a China context.
* Good working knowledge of the Chinese financial regulatory environment and Chinese finance law and practice.
* Fluent Mandarin as well as English language skills, and is able to draft and negotiate documents to an international standard in both Mandarin and English.
* The ability to supervise and provide on the job training for junior team members.
* A track record of business development and is highly motivated.
Applicants who have strong relationships with PRC financial institutions will be considered particularly valuable. Excellent academics, a willingness to learn and an enthusiastic and team focused approach are also essential to fit into this market leading practice.
