This is a hands-on project delivery organisation with its head office based in Singapore, regional offices based in Dubai, Singapore and London, and operations in multiple countries within those regions.
The position will be based in Singapore within the Head Office environment. The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the financial strategy and operations of the business.
You will manage an Accounting Manager and lead the finance team, including two Regional Accountants and two Assistant Accountants. The finance team is co-located with other Group services including Information Technology, Human Resources and Marketing in the Singapore CBD. You will be accountable for the financial integrity of the Group and will regularly liaise with people from all regions of the business. You will be required to perform duties diligently to the quality standards set by the Company and conform to the Companys policies and business systems and be committed to their implementation and continuous improvement at all times.
The responsibilities associated with this position include:
Managing the finance team
Ensuring the finance team deliver committed deliverables to the Group
Maintaining policies and procedures for the finance function and ensuring they are complied with
Preparing financial and management reports
Board reporting
Preparing/coordinating company tax returns
Managing the audit process
Setting up companies/branches as required
Engaging and liaising with accounting and legal advisors
Managing banking and cash-flows across the business
Overseeing payroll
Implementing and maintaining insurance polices as required by the Group
Looking for economies of scale and best practice within the Group and making changes where required
Reviewing systems required to deliver the finance function
Providing support and advice to the Group Business Manager and Senior Management Group as required
You should possess a degree in an accounting related discipline and be CA/CPA qualified and will have proven management capabilities and a minimum of ten years relevant work experience. You should be motivated and results-driven looking to further your career in a growing and dynamic organisation. You will need to be flexible and adaptable in your approach to managing the finance function of the business, and will be accountable for the financial integrity of the Group. As you will regularly liaise with people from all regions of the business, strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential and you will be receptive to new ideas and respond to workplace changes with flexibility and optimism.
